Chinese-Italian firms Benelli has pumped a lot of money and in return it wants volumes. One of those very promising motorcycles is a take on the retro motorcycle series called the Leoncino 500 Scrambler. The all-new retro-modern bike is set to target the Ducati Scrambler Sixty2, which also new bike in A2 licence requirements. With its extra capacity and power and torque figures, Could it be enough to fight with the Ducati ?
The All New Benelli Leoncino - lion cub in English - comes with 19-inches wire-spoked wheels in the front and 17″ in the rear.The knobbly tyres should make the Leoncino surprisingly adapt at light off-road use. The retro-modern styling of Benelli Lioncino is certainly likeable, yet tasteful. The steel trellis frame holds a beefy 50 mm fork and a preload-adjustable shock in back. The dual disc brakes up front are large 320 mm units squeezed by Brembo 4-pots radial mount calipers, while the rear brake have 260 mm Disc with 2-pots caliper. ABS will come as standard on the Benelli Leoncino, which Weight is a claimed 170kg. Looks good, Mind you ?
Benelli Leoncino is powered by a 500cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine, which slots in with A2 licence requirements by produces a claimed 47 HP @ 8.500 RPM and peak torque of 45 N.m @ 4.500 RPM. Power transfers through a six-speed gear box and a chain-driven. The engine meets Euro 4 norms says Benelli as the norms are all set to hit the European market...
